MY TASKS:

Designing content for weekly Instagram posts. These weekly posts include curating post captions, designing images for the post, and editing videos.

MY ROLE:

I co-founded this project along with my partner, Aubrey Tang. My role in this project is to help manage content, develop and design content, along with developing relationships with stakeholders and marketing our initiative to gain more traction.

PROJECTS / CHALLENGES:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to find a way to tell the stories of the many local business owners in our Chinatown community who are struggling. Through our stories, we want our viewers to understand the difficulties they are facing and to really learn more about the history of Chinatown and why / how can we help to keep them afloat.

Projects we need to overcome the next few years include the following:

We plan to create a website that will serve as a central hub for all of these local businesses. Think of it as a yellow-page but you can learn more about these businesses/owners and also order or make a purchase directly from the site. 

This would just be a smaller variation of the website. We want to solve the issue of people not knowing what is in Chinatown and really get the opportunity to use the app to help learn more about the businesses that reside in the community. This could help benefit the local businesses that do not have any online exposure.
